Originally from Dallas, Texas, Dr. Meagan Miller has carved a distinguished path as a board-eligible oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Her journey into the field of dentistry began with her relocation to Southern California, where she pursued and completed her bachelor’s degree in Biology at La Sierra University in Riverside in 2011. During her collegiate years, Dr. Miller showcased her athletic prowess as a defensive specialist on the NCAA Division III volleyball team, demonstrating her commitment to teamwork and excellence.
Driven by a passion for working with her hands and a desire to blend creative talent with healthcare, Dr. Miller began her dental education at Loma Linda University Dental School (LLUSD), where she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2015. Her inclination towards oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) became evident during her studies, mainly as she delved into innovative solutions for reconstructive problems. This interest led her to the prestigious Boyne and Geistlich research fellowship in regenerative medicine in 2016, focusing on soft and hard tissue regrowth. Dr. Miller contributed significantly to the field throughout her fellowship, publishing several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of OMS and the Clinics of North America.
Her dedication to mastering the intricacies of OMS led her to pursue and complete an OMS residency at LLUSD, aligning her developing skills with the field’s goals of restoring function and aesthetics and providing comprehensive care. Having graduated from the LLUSD OMS program in June 2022, Dr. Miller now serves as a part-time Assistant Professor in the LLUSD OMS department and holds privileges at the Riverside University Health Systems, a Level 1 Trauma Center. She is fervently dedicated to educating her patients about their conditions and ensuring they receive quality, evidence-based treatment options.
Outside the professional realm, Dr. Miller finds joy in culinary arts, wheel-throwing ceramics, and long walks with her husband, Daniel, their newborn daughter, Valerie, and Bijou, their five-year-old French bulldog. Dr. Miller’s life reflects a harmonious blend of professional dedication, personal passion, and family values.
